My whole life my family encouraged me to get a real job. Their advice was, “Become a teacher or an administrative assistant. Only be creative during your spare time”.

Witches of East End
I ALWAYS wanted to spend the majority of my time doing something
creative and spiritual. I was an artist! A Pagan! A rebel! Normal 9 to 5 office
jobs made me feel like I was in jail for 40 hours a week. I HATED and STILL
HATE corporate clothes. Suits look like military uniforms for the jungles of
corporate America. Women in pant suits look like women pretending to be men. Their
stuffy pants and dress suits with button down blouses make my skin crawl.
Working Girl
I wore t-shirts and jeans every day of my life as a statement
against the world of corporate conformity. I ended up doing everything I could
to avoid leading an ordinary life. I believed that I could either have money
and be completely miserable in a job that I hated, or I could follow my
artistic impulses and be happy…but BROKE. I decided to be as happy as I
possibly could be with just enough money to get by.
One day I realized I was magically and creatively talented
enough to shape and mold my own life. I could do something creative and
spiritual AND have enough money to live comfortably TOO. That was when my business
started to become successful and my life completely transformed.
